Job Description
St. Olaf Parish seeks a Part-Time Director of Sacred Music. St. Olaf Parish has had a long tradition of an active and dedicated music ministry. Join us as our Director of Sacred Music to inspire faith through song! Your musical talent combined with your leadership will help create an enriching worship environment where everyone feels uplifted and connected in spirit. Job Summary Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Create an environment of pastoral care through music ministry and assist in the ongoing formation of the parish choir. Assist the Pastor in selecting congregational songs and service music. Assist the Pastor in planning, organizing and executing Sacred Worship Meetings. Assist the Pastor in planning, organizing and executing of music for weddings, funerals and other special liturgical celebrations. Recruit, coordinate and rehearse the parish choir, accompanists and cantors. Schedule regular tuning and maintenance of the parish piano and organ. Maintain and report copyright licenses for both print and digital music used. Collaborate with neighboring parishes for our joint Confirmation celebration and Thanksgiving Prayer Service. Report Music Ministry at Parish Staff Meetings. Must pass a background check.
