Duties Perform piano music for weekly worship services, special ceremonies, and community events, ensuring a seamless flow of musical accompaniment. Collaborate with clergy and choir directors to select appropriate hymns, liturgical pieces, and contemporary religious music that resonate with the congregation. Accompany congregational singing by harmonizing melodies and providing musical cues that encourage active participation. Maintain and prepare a diverse repertoire of hymn music, sacred compositions, and instrumental arrangements suitable for various service themes. Manage digital audio workstation (DAW) equipment for recording or enhancing live performances when needed. Assist in acoustic treatment adjustments within the worship space to optimize sound quality for performances and congregation listening experience. Support the development of musical improvisation and composition to create unique arrangements that elevate worship moments. Skills Extensive knowledge of musical liturgical traditions and hymnody across various Christian denominations. Proven experience performing religious music in church settings, with a strong background in piano playing and organ performance. Experience performing concert music, demonstrating versatility across genres and styles. Ability to read sheet music fluently and adapt quickly to new arrangements or improvisations. Skilled in playing additional instruments such as guitar, drums, or harmonizing melodies on other instruments when required. Familiarity with music selection processes aligned with liturgical calendars and special church events. Knowledge of acoustic treatment principles to enhance sound clarity within worship spaces. Theater experience or background in live performance settings that require stage presence and audience engagement.
