Are you confident supporting volunteer musicians, selecting suitable music and coordinating weekly services? Marine Corps Base Hawaii Chapel is seeking a Music Ministry Coordinator to lead music for its weekly Protestant Community Praise and Worship Service. The role You will direct a weekly rehearsal and lead the praise band during the Sunday service. The service takes place at 11:00 a.m. and lasts approximately one hour. You must be on site 15 minutes before and after each service. You will also support three annual special services: Thanksgiving Eve, Christmas Eve and Easter Sunrise. Key responsibilities Lead one weekly praise band rehearsal of approximately one hour Direct the praise band during the weekly Sunday service Select suitable contemporary worship music with the designated chapel representative Recruit and train volunteer vocalists and instrumentalists Coordinate musicians, sound checks and service arrangements Prepare a weekly PowerPoint music plan by close of business each Wednesday Arrange and train a suitable substitute when unavailable Plan and deliver music for designated special services What's provided The chapel provides rehearsal and worship space, access to a CCLI account, sound equipment and musical instruments, including an acoustic guitar, piano, keyboard, bass guitar and drum set. The person You should have relevant music coordination experience, education or both, with the ability to lead contemporary Protestant worship and bring together musicians of different experience levels. Applicants must be either a US citizen or a US permanent resident with a verified Permanent Resident Card. The successful contractor must meet Marine Corps Base Hawaii access, background screening, E-Verify and security requirements.
