Job Description

Traditional Worship Musician wanted at Linden Presbyterian Church in Linden Michigan. Job Overview We are seeking a talented and passionate Musician to join our worship team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in music performance and a love for the arts, particularly in a worship setting. This role will involve performing traditional hymns during worship service, collaborating with other artists, and contributing to the overall artistic vision of our worship service. Duties Perform traditional worship music including 2 -3 Hymns and other traditional and special music on Sunday Mornings Collaborate with the Pastor and Worship Committee regarding hymns and special music Rehearse regularly to ensure high-quality performances and maintain proficiency in musical pieces. Adapt musical arrangements as needed to fit the specific requirements. Arrive at 9am on Sundays to warm up and prepare for that weeks worship Opportunities to play or provide music for special occasions including Holidays, Weddings, and Funerals. Requirements Proven experience as a Musician, with ability to play piano, keyboard a must Proficiency on piano or keyboard. Experience with playing the Organ, other instruments, and vocal performance a plus. Familiarity with a Nord Keyboard is preferred but not required Ability to read sheet music and understand musical notation. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively while taking direction as necessary to meet the needs of the congregation and worship calendar The Traditional Worship Musician will play 2-3 hymns and special music on Sunday mornings from 10am to 11am. Additionally there will be an opportunity to play and provide music during the year for special occasions including Holidays, Weddings and Funerals. The Traditional Worship Musician is expected to come to Sunday Service between 9:00 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. to warm up with that week's music already prepared. The musician will stay till service is complete. The musician will also communicate regularly with the Pastor and worship committee regarding upcoming services. Additionally a plus if the candidate has a network of musicians to perform special music at worship services and other gatherings. Starting pay is $200 a week with additional compensation potential. Nord experience or a multi-instrumentalist is a plus but not required. Ability to play hymns and keyboard/piano a must. Send all resumes to lpcoffice@lpcmi.org.
