We are seeking a talented and passionate Organist to join our team. As a CMBC Organist you will serve under the leadership of our Worship & Arts Director. RESPONSIBILITIES
Worship & Musical Support Provide professional organ and/or keyboard accompaniment for Sunday worship services and designated ministry events. Accompany hymns, contemporary selections, praise and worship, offertories, altar services, and other musical portions of worship. Support spontaneous worship through appropriate vamps, modulations, transitions, andmusical responses. Proficient in playing the organ and keyboard Ability to teach songs to the congregation and choirs Ability to work with other choirs and music ministry groups Ability to fill in when the Minister of Music is absent Dependable, punctual, and committed Follow verbal and non-verbal cues from authorized Church and Worship & Arts leadership. Help establish appropriate harmonic structure, chordal support, dynamics, and musical transactions. Work closely with the drummer, bassist, other musicians, choir, vocalists, and Worship & Arts leadership to maintain musical cohesion. Rehearsals & Preparation Attend all required choir, band, combined, and special event rehearsals. Arrive at rehearsals fully prepared and familiar with assigned music and arrangements . Practice assigned music in advance and demonstrate appropriate knowledge of keys, chord progressions, arrangements, and transitions. Participate in rehearsals in a focused, cooperative, and professional manner. Services & Special Events Perform at regular Sunday worship services and additional services as assigned. Provide musical support for revivals, holiday services, funerals, weddings, concerts, andother CMBC ministry programs when requested and within the scope of the agreement. Be available for special services and ministry events with reasonable advance notice. Additional compensation or arrangements for out-of-town engagements may be established separately by the Church.
ATTENDANCE & RELIABILITY
Be punctual and fully prepared and in position by the designated call time. Maintain consistent attendance at assigned services and rehearsals. Provide at least 48 hours' notice of an anticipated absence, except in an emergency. Communicate promptly with the Worship & Arts Director regarding scheduling conflicts,emergencies, or circumstances affecting assigned responsibilities.
PROFESSIONAL & MINISTRY STANDARDS
The Organist/Keyboardist is expected to: Conduct themselves in a professional, respectful, dependable, and Christ-centered selves in a professional, respectful, dependable, and Christ-centered manner. Demonstrate cooperation and respect toward Church leadership, musicians, choirmembers, vocalists, ushers, and congregation members. Maintain a positive and team-oriented attitude. Refrain from disruptive, confrontational, disrespectful, or insubordinate behavior. Avoid excessive personal electronic device use, unnecessary conversation, distractions,or disengagement during rehearsals and worship services. Follow established Church dress and appearance standards. Maintain appropriate confidentiality regarding non-public Church business, ministryplanning, personnel matters, and internal communications. Follow reasonable directives from the Worship & Arts Director and authorized Church Leadership
EQUIPMENT & FACILITY RESPONSIBILITIES
