Job Description
Pianist - $50.00 Per Hour (working approx 4 hours per week)- Erie va medical center, ERIE PA The Role Are you an experienced pianist who can confidently accompany Christian worship services with skill and professionalism? Would you enjoy using your musical talents to support veterans and faith communities in a flexible, rewarding role? We're recruiting for a Pianist opportunity supporting Veterans Affairs Chaplain Services. This is a chance to play an important role in weekly worship while enjoying a flexible 1099 contract. Approximately 4 hours per week , supporting Sunday Protestant worship services. This position pays $50 per hour , depending on experience, and include a one-year base contract with four optional extension years . As a Pianist , you'll provide piano or keyboard accompaniment, perform preludes, hymns, postludes, and special music when requested, and provide vocal support where appropriate. You'll work closely with the Chaplain Service to help create meaningful worship experiences for veterans.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide piano or keyboard accompaniment during scheduled worship services and special services.
- Perform preludes, hymns, postludes, and special music as requested.
- Arrive at least 15 minutes before each scheduled service.
- Coordinate music with the officiating Chaplain.
- Notify the Chaplain if you're unavailable and arrange an approved substitute when required.
- Personally perform at least 65% of scheduled services.
- Complete all required VA contractor training before starting work and annually thereafter. The Benefits

The Person:
To succeed as a Worship Pianist , you'll have:- Experience performing in a VA chapel or religious congregation.
- Strong piano or keyboard accompaniment skills.
- The ability to accurately perform hymns.
- Professionalism, reliability, and strong communication skills.
- The ability to complete all required VA training before beginning work.
