2 JOB SUMMARY
The Stage Crew (Student Worker) supports all the technical needs of any event presented in
the auditorium. This includes any staging, lighting, sound design, and equipment needs for any show or presentation.
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
All positions require selected candidates that are 18 years or older to be fingerprinted and successfully pass a criminal background check. Additional minimum required qualifications for this position are:
Ability to follow safety practices and procedures
Availability to work during weekday evenings and weekends as needed
Knowledge of lighting, audio or set construction and basic power tools
Ability to roll, push, pull, bend, reach, stoop, and lift up to 50 pounds
Must be a current district high school student that attends the school at which they will be employed
Speak, read, write, and present professionally, analyze, and interpret English written and verbal communications
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Job-related experience
Knowledge of safety protocols for rigging and scenic
Previous theatre experience (school plays, technical theatre classes, etc.)
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
Work with lighting design, light board operation, rigging, physical setup and patching
Operate sound board, light board, assist with basic light design, EQ adjustments, patching and digital mixing for live shows
Assist with scene changes, props, and run the fly system during live performances
Operate set construction tools, stage equipment setup and storage equipment
Maintain and organize auditorium and theatrical equipment
Ensure backstage areas are safe
Attend production meetings as needed
Communicate effectively with diverse individuals and groups of people while maintaining confidentiality and building positive working relationships with employees and stakeholders
Work under limited supervision, utilizing time-management and prioritization strategies, accurately processing detailed information and meeting deadlines
Support a team environment by collaborating with own and other work units to effectively perform the duties of the position
Adapt to changing work priorities and work with frequent interruptions, as required
Maintain regular and predictable attendance to fulfill job requirements efficiently and effectively
Perform other related duties as assigned to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit
