Perioperative Registered Nurse:

All patients admitted to Westlake Premier Surgery Center who will be subjected to general, regional block, or conscious sedation will be cared for pre-operatively, in the OR, and post-operatively by a registered nurse (RN) who is qualified and competent to provide such care. This position requires a nurse who is both experienced and comfortable admitting, circulating, and recovering a patient in PACU.

Accountability:

1. Is directly accountable to the Nurse Manager and Medical Director. 2. Works in collaboration with medical staff, nursing colleagues, PAs, CSTs and the surgical aide. 3. Directs ancillary staff such as medical assistants.

Qualifications:

Current California RN state licensure and graduate of an accredited nursing school program Minimum of two years of recent circulating experience, preferably in facial plastics Minimum of one year of pre-operative experience Minimum of two years of recent post-anesthesia, critical care, or recovery care experience. Must be proficient in starting IVs Current BCLS certification required. Current ACLS or obtained within six months of hire. Professional organization membership and certification encouraged.

Other Requirements:

1. Ability to pass the credentialing requirements for a AAAASF accredited facility 2. Ability to adapt to sudden changes and flexibility in work requirements to include potential shift changes based on operational needs and/or command priorities 3. Must be able to perform duties in a stressful and high paced environment 4. Must be able to lift 50 pounds
