Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in various healthcare settings, demonstrating the ability to deliver high-quality care while ensuring the comfort and dignity of our clients. This role requires a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for those we serve, including seniors, individuals with disabilities, and patients with chronic conditions. Duties Assist clients with personal hygiene tasks such as bathing, grooming, and dressing. Provide mobility assistance, including the use of Hoyer lifts and other equipment. Monitor and document vital signs and changes in client conditions. Administer medications as prescribed and assist with medication management. Support clients with meal preparation and feeding when necessary. Engage clients in meaningful activities to promote social interaction and mental stimulation. Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients, adhering to infection control protocols. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care plans are followed. Document patient care activities accurately using EMR or EHR systems. Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance clients' well-being. Experience Candidates should have experience or knowledge in one or more of the following areas: Long-term care experience, including assisted living or nursing home settings. Hospital experience, particularly in critical care, ICU, or emergency medicine. Working with individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia care. Phlebotomy skills and familiarity with medical terminology. Experience in geriatrics, pediatrics, hospice care, or home care settings. Proficiency in medical documentation practices and understanding of HIPAA regulations. Familiarity with various healthcare technologies such as Cerner or eClinicalWorks.
