Personal Trainer

The West End YMCA in Willoughby is now hiring part time Personal Trainers.

Shifts:

Flexible. Sessions are by appointment only

Starting Pay Rate:

$20.00 per hour and a

RESPONSIBILITIES

Train assigned members in support of their desired behavior change. Regularly checks on members' progress in meeting personal and program goals. Lead energizing, fun, safe, and educational sessions. Instruct lessons in accordance with YMCA guidelines, having/ following prepared plans accordingly. Conduct interviews to understand members' definition of well-being, personal goals, cultural background, healthcare needs, diverse abilities and interests and develops plans to meet their individual needs. Answer questions from program participants and members to support them in achieving their goals related to health and well-being. Maintain working knowledge of wellness and trends to provide effective information and support to members. Builds effective, authentic relationships with members; help members and program participants connect with each other and the YMCA. Identify and celebrate the successes of members and program participants. Observe and adjust approach to support all participants' capabilities, physical conditions, health, and culture. Creates a safe environment where all individuals feel welcomed and respected. Handle and resolve incidents and hazardous conditions and inform supervisor of unusual situations or unresolved issues.

QUALIFICATIONS

Certified personal trainer/instructor required.

Certifications:

Must have a Nationally Accredited Personal Training Certification. Must be able to complete Y provided training such as YMCA Strength & Conditioning Instructor Certification, First Aid, and CPR/AED. At least one year of experience personal training preferred. This is a non-exempt part-time position. Applications are being accepted until the positions have been filled.
