In a career as a Pharmacy Technician, you join us in providing life-changing care to patients from across the region. In this role, you will support the pharmacist by performing technical and clerical tasks in the pharmacy.Schedule:
Full-Time; 8:30 AM-5:00PM Monday-Friday, Rotating Holidays Location:
West HospitalMAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
Prepares, packages, and labels medications as directed by the pharmacist. Performs aseptic compounding of hazardous and non-hazardous parenteral admixtures as well as hazardous and non-hazardous non-sterile compounding. Distributes medications to nursing units, operating rooms, and clinics. Maintains sufficient inventory for medications and supplies by monitoring inventory, removing outdates, and communicating ordering needs. Performs medication history interviews and compiles complete, updated medication lists for patients. Performs stocking and cleaning of automated dispensing devices. Assists pharmacist with audits, reports, quality improvement projects, and assignments. Maintains cleanliness and orderliness of the pharmacy. Maintains records, invoices, and files as required. Participates in the training of new pharmacy personnel. Provides patient care and education according to the patient population served.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
High School diploma or equivalent required. Registered Pharmacy Technician in the State of Nebraska required. National (PTCB or ExCPT) or State Pharmacy Technician Certification (NE-CPhT) obtained within one year required. If registered as a Pharmacy Technician as of January 1, 2016, must be certified upon hire required. If first registered after January 1, 2016, must be certified within one year from the registration date required. BLS certified within 90 days of transfer or hire required.
