Category Schools - PT Job Type Contract Step into an impactful role as a Physical Therapist working with preschool-aged students (ages 3-5) in a supportive educational environment near Canandaigua, NY. This full-time, onsite contract opportunity is designed to cover a maternity leave for an engaging 6-week summer program and continue through the early months of the new school year, offering the potential for a slight extension into November. Position based at the Golisano Autism Center in Rochester, NY 14620 ESY (Extended School Year)
Dates:
July 6, 2026 - August 14, 2026 NSY (New School Year)
Dates:
September 8, 2026 - October 31, 2026 (possible extension into November) Full-time, 40 hours per week; onsite presence required Caseload of 25-30 preschool students
Qualifications:
Valid Physical Therapist license in New York State Previous experience in pediatric or school-based settings preferred Ability to develop and implement age-appropriate therapeutic interventions Strong communication and collaboration skills with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams Commitment to fostering developmental progress in young children
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide direct physical therapy services to preschool-aged students in individual and group settings Create and monitor individualized treatment plans based on students' needs and goals Maintain timely and accurate documentation for compliance and progress tracking Consult and collaborate with teachers, special educators, and families to support student achievement and generalization of skills Participate in meetings, eligibility reviews, and IEP planning as needed This is an ideal contract opportunity for a Physical Therapist seeking meaningful work within a vibrant school community, helping make a difference during a key period in these young learners' lives.
