Job Description:

Plant Accounting Supervisor Supports plant accounting operations across reporting, departmental spend analysis, month-end close, bill of materials maintenance, and yield reporting. May lead Plant Accounting Coordinators to ensure daily yield, inventory, and labor reports are completed accurately and on time, and reviews reporting before distribution to management. Also develops and maintains Bills of Materials (BOMs) to capture costs for new products and product changes. Core Responsibilities Prepare daily plant reports using data from SAP, ADC, supervisor logs, and other sources, including yield, pack, operations, and labor reporting in Excel. Perform month-end close activities, including journal entries, variance analysis, and account reconciliations. Assist with weekly and monthly analysis of plant variances and operating costs. Ensure compliance with corporate policies, especially around BOM audits and fixed asset reviews. Provide backup support across accounting functions, including yield reporting, inventory, and payroll. Spend time on the production floor to better understand plant processes and procedures. Coordinate and prepare weekly and monthly cycle counts for packaging, ingredients, and MRO, and partner with Purchasing to investigate and resolve discrepancies. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field, plus 2+ years of accounting experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong understanding of accounting principles. Advanced Excel skills, including data analysis, large data set manipulation, and formulas. SAP experience preferred. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Travel to other plant locations may be required. Leadership May provide guidance, training, and oversight to accounting staff and Plant Accounting Coordinators. Supports hiring, training, work assignment, performance management, and issue resolution as needed.
