Job Description
A growing manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Powder Coat Supervisor to lead daily operations within its finishing department. We are seeking a proven hands-on leader with strong technical powder coating knowledge, team management experience, and the ability to drive production, quality, and accountability. The ideal candidate will have previous experience operating and troubleshooting an automatic powder coat booth system , along with experience supervising employees in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities Supervise daily powder coat department operations including pretreatment, coating, curing, unloading, packaging, and material flow Lead, train, schedule, and manage department employees to meet production goals safely and efficiently Operate, monitor, adjust, and troubleshoot automatic powder coat booth systems , reclaim systems, guns, conveyors, ovens, and related equipment Ensure proper powder application, film build, adhesion, cure quality, color consistency, and finish standards Maintain production schedules and coordinate priorities with other departments and management Enforce safety procedures, PPE requirements, housekeeping, lockout/tagout, and OSHA standards Monitor powder usage, waste, rework, and department efficiencies to reduce cost and improve output Manage staffing levels, attendance, coaching, discipline, and performance accountability Coordinate preventative maintenance and communicate repair needs to minimize downtime Maintain inventory of powders, hooks, plugs, masking materials, and department consumables Drive continuous improvement efforts related to throughput, labor efficiency, workflow, and quality
Qualifications Required:
Previous supervisory experience in a manufacturing environmentRequired:
Hands-on experience operating an automatic powder coat booth system Strong knowledge of powder application processes, grounding, pretreatment, cure cycles, and finish quality standards Experience managing schedules, labor planning, and department performance metrics Ability to lead teams, hold standards, and develop employees Mechanical troubleshooting ability strongly preferred Forklift experience preferred Strong communication and organizational skills Willingness to work overtime or adjusted schedules when needed What We Are Looking For We need a leader who can take ownership of the department, solve problems quickly, improve performance, and lead from the floor. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who understands both people management and powder coat operations. Compensation Competitive pay based on experience and qualifications.Job Type:
