Job Description

Lead Pre-K Teacher Duties and Responsibilities:
The Lead Pre-K Teacher creates a caring, warm, and safe environment for our loving children. The Lead Pre-K Teacher develops and implements activities to improve the overall care and quality of the program, and has the ability to implement developmentally appropriate activities based on children's interests and needs. The Lead Pre-K Teacher is responsible for safe supervision, lesson planning and delivery of the curriculum. The Lead Pre-K Teacher must be able to communicate, listen, and work well with others in a team environment. The Lead Pre-K teacher must possess leadership skills and work well with assistants. The Lead Pre-K Teacher must develop strong, positive relationships with the children and their parents. The Lead Pre-K teacher will be supported with formal curriculum, orientation to the program, and a wide variety of materials and supplies and fully preparing the children for kindergarten. The Lead Pre-K Teacher is also responsible for assuring compliance with codes of all State and governing agencies The Lead Pre-K Teacher will be duties will be: Develop and execute dynamic, age-appropriate lesson plans that incorporate literacy education, math, and physical education to enhance early childhood development using the Funny Daffer and Learning Without Tears Curriculums Create a safe, inclusive classroom environment that encourages exploration, creativity, and positive behavior management. Collaborate with families to communicate children's progress, address individual needs, and support early intervention strategies when necessary. Implement classroom management techniques to maintain an organized space conducive to active learning and social interaction. Incorporate specialized practices such as special education accommodations and care techniques to meet diverse developmental needs. Utilize standardized testing tools and formative assessments to monitor progress and tailor instruction accordingly. Lead activities that promote social-emotional skills, behavior management, and overall child welfare while fostering a love of learning. She/He will work with the director and current lead teacher in transitioning into this position.
Lead Pre-K Teacher Qualifications:
Proven experience working with children in early childhood education settings, including preschool or childcare environments. Strong knowledge of childhood development principles, classroom management strategies, and behavior management techniques. Demonstrated expertise in curriculum development across multiple domains such as literacy education, math, and physical education Experience with special education practices and early intervention programs is highly desirable. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for engaging with children, families, staff, and community partners. Familiarity with classroom experience involving assessments, progress reports, lesson planning, and teaching physical education. Prior preschool or childcare experience is preferred; Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, an equivalent degree and credits/certificate, or meet criteria as outlined by the Department of Human Services. $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
