Our director, teachers, and aides are experienced, dedicated, and deeply committed to supporting the growth and development of young learners. Above all, we strive to create opportunities for children to build confidence and learn to interact compassionately and respectfully with their peers. Your Journey Nursery & Preschool is currently seeking a preschool teacher for an immediate opening. We are looking for a fun, energetic, and exceptionally caring educator to become part of the YJNP family. If you are passionate about working with children and supporting their educational achievements, we encourage you to apply. The ideal candidate will be confident in their ability to prepare students for Kindergarten success. Our mission is for children to leave our program thriving academically and socially among their peers. This role is best suited for someone who views themselves as an educator rather than solely a child care provider. We develop weekly lesson plans and conduct regular evaluations to ensure children are progressing appropriately for Kindergarten readiness. Most importantly, we highly value strong relationships with families. Building meaningful connections with both children and parents, along with possessing excellent communication and interpersonal skills, is essential. A positive and enthusiastic attitude is required for this position. We are looking for someone who is: Passionate about supporting children's intellectual and emotional growth Knowledgeable in preschool child development and capable of creating engaging and effective lesson plans Highly organized, detail-oriented, and an excellent communicator Warm, friendly, and interactive in order to build strong relationships with families and staff Patient, confident, and assured in their teaching abilities Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following: Create an engaging, fun, and positive classroom environment that encourages learning and discovery Maintain a safe, healthy, and nurturing atmosphere for all children Develop creative and age-appropriate lesson plans that promote children's physical and cognitive development Encourage social and emotional growth while providing positive guidance and support Build and maintain positive, effective relationships with families Implement a program that is responsive to the individual needs of children Demonstrate professionalism and ongoing commitment to the role
Requirements:
MDSE Qualified 45 Hour Child Development and 45 Hour Preschool Curriculum certification Minimum of one year of teaching experience Ability to effectively manage a classroom of up to 10 preschool students General Qualifications Teachers must satisfy the qualifications established in the National Standards for hiring (see www.bls.gov), including the following: Ability to hear conversational speech, with or without the assistance of a hearing aid Ability to see and read standard newsprint, with or without corrective lenses Ability to communicate clearly and be understood in normal situations Ability to lift and carry children or other items weighing up to 50 pounds Ability to use arms, hands, legs, and feet, with or without assistive devices, including the ability to evacuate the building during emergencies Ability to manage crisis situations, especially those involving children Ability to respond quickly and appropriately to emergency situations
