Aug 25, 2026 Job Description Preschool Teacher Gateway Regional School District Begins August 25, 2026 Gateway Regional School District is looking for a dynamic early childhood/ special education teacher at Chester Elementary School. The ideal candidate will be flexible, energetic, and passionate about early childhood education.Qualified Candidates Must:
- Hold MA Certification in Early Childhood Education and/or special education
- Hold a Masters Degree (preferred)
- Have at least 2 years experience teaching in a public school preschool preferred
- Provide proof of citizenship, residency or work visa
- Hold the
DESE SEI
endorsement (preferred)- Show experience or familiarity with writing IEPs and evaluations
- Hold an unwavering belief that every student can grow and succeed
Professional Responsibilities Include:
- Writing and implementing IEPs and progress reports
- Creating developmentally appropriate lesson plans for children ages 3-5 years old with varying ability levels.
- Working with children with communication disorders, Autism, and/or other disabilities.
- Collaborating with other preschool teachers, therapists, and administrators.
- Providing specialized instruction, accommodations, and modifications for children with disabilities in an inclusive setting.
- Completing educational evaluations and preschool screenings.
- Serving as liaison for children on IEPs.
- Communicating with parents via multiple means.
- Creating a welcoming, loving, and language enriched community
- Maintaining a well structured classroom, implementing behavior management systems as needed.
- Participates in assigned duties in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement.
- Attend and actively engage in staff meetings, professional development, required trainings, and other school-based or district meetings throughout the school year.
- Perform other duties as assigned by administration to support the overall success of the school community.
