Job Description

Job Overview Nature's Nook Preschool is a Montessori-inspired, nature-based early childhood program for children ages 15 months to 4 years. We nurture independence, curiosity, and confidence through hands-on learning, purposeful play, and daily connection with the natural world. The hours for this role are 8:00am-5:00pm, Monday-Friday. We invite passionate educators to join us in guiding young children through meaningful experiences that blend Montessori methods, holistic growth, and daily engagement with nature.
Holistic & Montessori Instruction:
Implement and support our nature-based, Montessori-aligned curriculum Develop lesson plans and curriculum maps that integrate outdoor exploration and hands-on learning Observe and adapt to each child's learning style and developmental stage Collaborate with colleagues to design holistic, child-centered learning experiences Thoughtfully use nature-based learning and Montessori materials
Guiding Whole-Child Development:
Welcoming and nurturing demeanor with children Support students' academic, social, emotional, and moral development Create a prepared environment indoors and outdoors, fostering wonder, independence, and respect for nature Conduct ongoing assessments (formal and informal) to guide instruction Maintain open communication with parents, students, and colleagues Ensure student safety and well-being in classroom, playground, and nature-based activities Uphold Montessori principles while embracing seasonal rhythms and natural cycles
Professionalism & Community:
Build positive relationships within the school community. Demonstrate flexibility, patience, and warmth with children and colleagues. Maintain confidentiality regarding students, staff, parents, and school matters. Perform duties ethically and professionally, with patience and courtesy. Good verbal, listening, and written communication skills. Willing to learn new ideas and work well with others. Engage physically with young children, including lifting up to 70 lbs and supporting outdoor activities. Maintain confidentiality and model ethical conduct. Complete all reports, lesson plans, and documentation by required deadlines.
Early Childhood Education:
Documented completion of Fundamentals of Infant and Toddler Care, Introduction to the Child Care Profession and Skills and Strategies for the Child Care Teacher or 48 credits from an institution of higher education with at least 3 credits in early childhood education
Required Training:
CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain. Shaken Baby Prevention training or willingness to obtain. Join us in shaping the minds of the future by providing a supportive and enriching educational experience for preschool-aged children.
Job Type:

$20.00 - $22.00 per hour
