Join us in this two-year fixed-term role driving community confidence and strategic outcomes. About the role | Ko te mahi nei This senior role is responsible for leading a strategic and operational programme that builds trust and confidence across a portfolio of significant infrastructure projects. You'll operate at the centre of complex, visible and sometimes challenging situations - working with elected members, executives, partners and local communities to manage risk, strengthen engagement and support successful project outcomes.
You will be:
Leading and delivering a high-level work programme to support community and stakeholder confidence Identifying and managing strategic and operational risks across multiple projects Building and maintaining trusted relationships with senior stakeholders, partners and communities Coaching and mentoring leaders to strengthen their approach to engagement and risk management Providing high-quality strategic advice to elected members and senior leadership Supporting a consistent, proactive approach to reputation management and community outcomes About you | Ko Koe Tēnei You're an experienced relationship builder who thrives at the intersection of community, stakeholders and decision-makers. You bring the ability to navigate complex environments, connect perspectives, and act as a trusted conduit between communities and those shaping outcomes. You may come from a range of backgrounds - public sector, infrastructure, iwi engagement, community leadership, policy, communications or similar - but you'll have a strong track record of influencing outcomes through relationships, insight and sound judgement. You'll also have: Extensive senior experience (15+ years) in a complex environment, ideally within or alongside local government Proven expertise in relationship management, stakeholder engagement and risk mitigation Strong understanding of government processes, policy and political environments Excellent communication skills, including the ability to provide clear, strategic advice at an executive and governance levelExperience leading through influence, coaching others and driving organisational improvement What's in it for you?
