We are looking for a Project Manager with a passion for Recreation and Play to join the Parks team. About the role | Ko te mahi nei The role of Project Manager - Play and Recreation is an exciting opportunity where you'll be able to showcase your experience, talent and passion for delivering high-quality play and recreation environments that meet the needs of the communities and users they serve. Reporting to the Manager of Operations for Community Parks Development as part of a multi-disciplined dynamic team, you will be responsible for delivering play and recreation-focused projects within our community parks and open spaces within set scope, time, and budget constraints. You will coordinate and manage project delivery including quality, risks, human resources, safety, communication, procurement, reporting, and project handover to the community. About you | Ko Koe Tēnei We're looking for a Project Manager with a passion for delivering innovative play and recreation projects that enhance community wellbeing, support active lifestyles, and create inclusive spaces for all ages and abilities. You will bring an understanding of play space design principles, recreation outcomes, and community-led placemaking, alongside the ability to deliver capital projects in a complex urban environment. Bachelor's degree or relevant qualification, and experience in project management, recreation planning, landscape architecture, urban design, or related field. PMP accreditation or similar professional project management qualification is desirable. Knowledge of play space design, recreational facility development, and/or public open space planning is highly valued. You'll have a thorough understanding of procurement principles and experience in executing contract responsibilities. Commitment to and strong understanding of current Health and Safety legislation.
