About the role | Ko te mahi nei As a Procurement & Contracts Lead, you'll take ownership of end-to-end sourcing activity—partnering closely with Project Managers and the wider procurement function to deliver high-quality commercial outcomes across a large, multi-project programme. Working within a fast-paced and collaborative environment, you'll: Lead sourcing projects from planning through to contract award and handover Support capital delivery programmes through smart, scalable procurement approaches Provide expert advice on contract management, risk, and supplier performance Shape procurement strategies to support programme-wide delivery (not just individual projects) Build strong relationships across internal teams and supplier networks Identify and implement improvements to procurement processes to optimise delivery This is a hands-on role where you'll operate at both a strategic and practical level, helping ensure procurement enables delivery. About you | Ko Koe Tēnei You're an experienced procurement professional who thrives in delivery-focused environments and enjoys working across complex, large-scale programmes. You're comfortable challenging the status quo and improving how things are done, build strong and trusted relationships as a collaborative team player, and are motivated by delivering real value for the community. You'll bring: Solid experience in strategic procurement (ideally 7+ years in a complex organisation) Strong end-to-end sourcing expertise, including tendering, evaluation and contract development A sound understanding of contract law and procurement frameworks Experience working on capital works, infrastructure, or programme-based delivery (highly desirable) Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and advise Strong commercial judgement, analytical thinking and problem-solving capability
