Produce Manager, Meat Manager

Job Summary We are seeking experienced and dynamic Meat and Produce Managers to oversee daily operations in our retail store. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive knowledge of inventory management, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and profitable operation of the meat and produce departments, maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and cleanliness. This role offers an opportunity to lead a dedicated team, implement merchandising strategies, and contribute to the overall success of our store. Duties Manage daily operations of the meat and produce departments, including staffing, scheduling, and shift management Oversee inventory control, ordering, purchasing, and stock replenishment to ensure product availability and freshness Implement pricing strategies and promotional displays to maximize sales and profitability Supervise team members by providing training & development, conducting interviews, and evaluating performance Ensure compliance with safety standards, health regulations, and store policies Handle customer inquiries with professionalism using excellent phone etiquette and communication skills Manage POS systems, cashiering functions, and cash handling procedures accurately Coordinate merchandising efforts to enhance product presentation and store appearance Conduct bookkeeping tasks such as payroll processing, budgeting, and record keeping Collaborate with marketing initiatives to promote department offerings effectively Lead by example in fostering a positive work environment focused on teamwork and employee orientation Qualifications Proven management experience in retail grocery or similar environment with supervising responsibilities Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in inventory management and store operations Excellent communication skills; bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus Proficiency in retail math, POS systems, cash handling, and merchandising techniques Experience in recruiting, interviewing, training & development of staff Knowledge of grocery store operations including pricing strategies, purchasing, stock rotation, and inventory control Leadership qualities with the ability to motivate teams and manage multiple priorities effectively Demonstrated ability in budgeting, sales management, and retail store management principles Customer service-oriented mindset with professional phone etiquette and organizational skills Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities while maintaining high standards of quality and safety This position is integral to delivering an outstanding shopping experience while ensuring operational excellence within the store.
