We are currently seeking an experienced Production Supervisor to lead our production team, ensuring smooth and efficient operations. Job Summary The Production Supervisor will oversee production workers, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures. This role requires an experienced leader who can manage a diverse team with a positive attitude and respect. The ideal candidate will lead by example, maintain a healthy work environment, and contribute to the company's growth and success. This role requires flexibility and availability to travel between our Canastota, NY and Herkimer, NY locations on an as needed basis.
Key Responsibilities People Management:
Lead and manage a team of production workers, fostering a positive and respectful work environment.
Team Leadership:
Use positive reinforcement and constructive feedback to guide the team, avoiding aggressive or confrontational approaches.
Reliability & Attendance:
Demonstrate exemplary attendance and punctuality, setting a standard for the team.
Operational Oversight:
Ensure production processes are followed accurately, without cutting corners, and maintain high-quality standards.
Collaboration:
Work closely with other supervisors and team members to ensure seamless operations and resolve any issues.
Communication:
Maintain open and effective communication with the team and other departments.
Adaptability:
Be flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment.
Task Management:
Organize and prioritize tasks efficiently, ensuring timely completion.
Problem-Solving:
Address and resolve issues that arise during production, providing guidance and support to team members.
Safety & Compliance:
Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
Meeting Leadership:
Lead team meetings to discuss production goals, updates, and any issues that need to be addressed. Ensure meetings are productive and focused on achieving objectives.
Data Review & Analysis:
Review production data and reports to monitor performance, identify trends, and implement improvements. Make data-driven decisions to optimize efficiency and productivity.
Ownership & Initiative:
Demonstrate a strong sense of ownership and responsibility for the production team's success. Actively seek ways to improve processes and contribute to the company's overall growth.
Employee Development:
Foster a supportive environment where employees feel valued and encouraged to grow. Provide mentorship and training to help team members develop their skills and advance within the company.
Company Alignment:
Uphold and promote the company's values and culture. Serve as a role model for other employees by embodying the company's mission and vision in daily activities.
Qualifications Experience:
A minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in a production or manufacturing environment is required. Experience should include managing teams, leading meetings, and reviewing operational data.
Education:
A Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred. In lieu of a degree, equivalent professional leadership experience will be considered.
Leadership Skills:
Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team, with a focus on positive reinforcement and constructive feedback.
Communication Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with team members and other departments.
Analytical Skills:
Proficiency in analyzing production data and making data-driven decisions to improve efficiency and productivity.
Problem-Solving:
Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to addressing issues. Demonstrates the ability to troubleshoot and learn new software or platforms efficiently.
Technical Proficiency :
Strong understanding and experience with Microsoft platforms. Experience using ADP, Smartsheet and Box is highly desirable.
Organizational Skills:
Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Adaptability:
Ability to adapt to changing work conditions and responsibilities in a rapidly growing company.
Availability:
Must have full availability for a flexible schedule, including Monday - Sunday. Weekends and evening availability are required.
Travel Requirement:
Must be willing and able to travel between our Canastota and Herkimer, NY locations to support operational needs on an as needed basis.
