Job Description

Job Title:
Production Supervisor - 2nd Shift (3:30pm-2:00am) Discover your exciting role Provide leadership and coordination to a production group in the areas of job training, job assignments, and problem-solving activities within the assigned area(s); Work collaboratively with Team Leads in leveling staff resources to meet production needs in a Lean environment; Maintain continuous flow emphasis and embrace the tenants of a Lean environment; Work as part of a production team by performing quality control checks, moving product into and out of the work area, assisting with the production and preparation of product to the customer; Monitor individual and overall department performance and apply accountability measures as appropriate. Explore your tasks and responsibilities Supervise team of leads and employees to meet production requirements Develop and maintain an effective production staff through the selection, training, and motivation of employees Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback to leads and front-line employees. Carry out disciplinary action as needed Maintain a fair, productive, team oriented environment Track attendance and approve requests for vacation and time off Review and approval of timecards on weekly basis Establish and enforce production and quality control standards Ensure safety standards are met at all times Ensure employee adherence to company policies and procedures Continually improve employee productivity - recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and product quality Facilitate communication between production departments regarding schedule updates and work orders to ensure customer satisfaction Stewardship responsibility for company assets and resources Represent the company in a positive and professional manner at all times Provide motivation to front-line direct report staff within assigned area Anticipate potential problems and communicate conditions to the production manager Other duties as assigned Show your expertise Supervisory Responsibilities Direct supervision of Team-Leads and front-line production staff in the assigned production area; Work collaboratively with other production supervisors and team-leads on key aspects of production. Education and Qualifications A minimum of 2-years in a leadership capacity, preferably in a manufacturing setting Knowledge of the areas as assigned - steel fabrication, welding, or coating processes Formal training in Lean methods and continuous flow Experience assisting in schedule preparation, guiding and directing the work of others, and providing timely positive and constructive feedback or coaching/counseling Demonstrated experience with Lean methods, continuous flow, and a CQI environment Demonstrated ability to effectively give feedback to address performance issues Basic level of proficiency with computer applications including Microsoft Word and Excel Ability to read and interpret production schedules and job-work-orders Ability to communicate clearly and effectively to others and to engage employees in decision Experience in a high-volume production environment desired Personal Attributes Good organizational skills Good written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills - performance evaluations, giving and receiving feedback, production-related operating and training procedures Present information and field questions in a thoughtful and professional manner Maintain a calm approach when faced with disagreements or differences of opinion Self-motivated, needing minimal direction Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws Reasoning Ability Ability to interpret production data and analyze trends Demonstrated ability to work with others in an environment of collaborative problem-solving Ability to apply basic trouble-shooting skills to solve specific production-related problems Standing and walking are a necessary part of the job Occasionally lifting (up to 50 lbs. unassisted) Characteristics include periodic noise increases from manufacturing processes Safety glasses and other required protection must be worn when out in the manufacturing area Non-Solicitation We are not currently accepting third-party agency candidates for this position.
