Team Leader About the Job At JTEKT Automotive Tennessee Vonore, our Production Technicians are essential to delivering the high-quality products our customers depend on every day. In this role, you will work hands-on in a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment, assembling components, operating equipment, and ensuring each product meets strict quality and safety standards. You will play a key part in keeping production flowing by performing a variety of assembly tasks, identifying defects, and supporting continuous improvement efforts. This role requires focus, teamwork, and attention to detail, as well as a commitment to safety and quality in everything you do. Summary / Purpose
Operate production equipment and assemble components while ensuring quality, safety, and efficiency standards are consistently met. Essential Duties and Accountabilities
  • Operate equipment, air tools, and gauges to assemble components safely
  • Install, insert, torque, purge, wipe, and inspect parts for quality and cosmetic defects
  • Operate production machines and monitor performance
  • Visually inspect parts for defects such as porosity, roughness, or imperfections
  • Perform 5S activities including cleaning, organizing, and maintaining work areas
  • Read and understand work instructions, charts, graphs, and measuring devices
  • Utilize the Andon system to report malfunctions or quality concerns
  • Rotate through multiple production processes and loops
  • Replenish and stock parts as needed
  • Become efficient across multiple workstations/processes
  • Participate in continuous improvement (Kaizen) activities
  • Work overtime, weekends, and holidays as required
  • Perform other duties as assigned Supervisory Responsibilities This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to read and interpret work instructions and visual information

  • Ability to work independently within a team environment
  • Basic knowledge of quality, safety, and environmental systems Education and Experience High School Diploma or GED required .
Work Environment and Physical Demands Stand and walk for extended periods, perform repetitive motions, lift up to 32 pounds, and complete detailed inspection and assembly tasks in a manufacturing setting.
