Psychiatrist

Rockland Psychiatric Center is seeking to recruit Psychiatrists willing to work evenings, nights, and weekends in Orangeburg, New York. The inpatient ward psychiatrist acts along with an administrative team leader as the clinical leader of an inter disciplinary team including social work, psychology, rehabilitation services, medical, and nursing staff. Clinical duties include diagnosing, providing medication (and where needed thoughtful behavioral interventions) to treat an array of serious mental disorders in patients admitted for more extended stays from voluntary hospitals as well as from jail, prison, and other secure forensic settings. Duties involve completing occasional psychiatric admission evaluations (most are completed by an admission service psychiatrist), weekly notes for eight weeks and monthly notes thereafter, as well as notes for significant events and changes in medication.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

possession of a license and current registration to practice medicine in New York State, and completion of a training program in psychiatry approved by the ABPN. Benefits include NYS Pension plan, health insurance benefits, leave benefits and paid parental leave.
