We are looking for a new Psychotherapist II to join our O/P Psych Services team!
Position Summary:
Provide direct mental health services to adults, couples, children and families seeking evaluation and ongoing psychotherapy. May be assigned to provide mental health services in a variety of settings that could include Inpatient Psychiatric unit, Intensive Outpatient Program, nursing homes, physician practices, school settings, and other settings appropriate for mental health service delivery. Demonstrated ability to utilize knowledge of principals methods and practices of a psychotherapist; the ability to make sound clinical decisions, to work cooperatively and effectively with professional colleagues, both internal and external; to maintain high quality and timely documentation of clinical work; evidence of experience or potential to take on leadership tasks.
Qualifications:
Education:
Masters or Doctorate Degree in a
Mental Health Related Field License/Certifications:
LCSWR, LMHC, Ph.D, Psy.

D or other New York State recognized license required; Third Party reimbursable required
Experience:
Minimum of three years of post-licensure experience that includes clinical supervision is required. Must have demonstrated history of progressive responsibilities in previous positions.
For Psychologists:
testing experience preferred.
Duties:
Will conduct mental health assessments, with appropriate referrals to community services, formulating accurate diagnoses. Will provide ongoing psychotherapy for individuals, couples & families. Will maintain accurate and timely patient documentation according to CMPPC policies and procedures, including intake assessments, treatment plans, ongoing progress notes and insurance documentation as necessary. Will maintain a complete medical record including consents for treatment, releases of information and other processes related to confidentiality, utilization and quality assurance programs. Will participate in Performance Improvement/Quality Programs as required by the department. Will make appropriate referrals to staff prescribers for medication and/or psychiatric evaluations. Maintain ongoing collaborations to ensure quality treatment. Provide transition for discharge of patients from therapy. Provide crisis care as necessary for individuals on caseload. Will attend meetings as required by Clinical and Administrative Directors, including staff meetings, peer group meetings, individual supervision. Will attend other meetings as required, including a variety of conferences, meetings, discussions, seminars and workshops both within and outside the clinic, within areas of his/her own position responsibilities. May be responsible for department projects assigned by Director which could include documentation reviews, survey assessments and other department Performance Improvement projects. May be assigned training, mentoring or supervisory tasks within the Psychiatry Department. For Psychologists
  • may be assigned psychological evaluations and appropriate documentation of this process.
Will adhere to CMPPC Patient Safety behaviors by practicing its error prevention tools and including but not limited to all policies, procedures, and processes related to the CMH Patient Safety Program. Will display good guest relations and positive attitude toward all CMPPC and CMH visitors, patients, vendors and community providers encountered in the course of conducting this work.
