Public Area Attendant / Houseperson

Non-Exempt, Part-time Seasonal; Non-Exempt, Full-time Seasonal
HIRING RANGE
$20.00 + built-in-"other pay"

POSITION SUMMARY
This position will perform all functions as they pertain to the cleanliness and upkeep of Timbers Club property as a whole, including Club Lodge and other public common areas, while also responding to guest and front desk requests.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Clean assigned public common areas (lobbies, bathrooms, lounge, locker room, gym, elevators, administrative offices, rec rooms, pool/hot tubs, hallways, corridors, stairwells, etc) in a timely and efficient manner according to schedule, and completing all corrections as assigned by supervisor.
  • Empty trash and maintain cleanliness in assigned areas.
  • Complete work orders and guest requests from front office (rollaways, highchairs, cribs, etc) in a friendly manner.
  • Adhere to safety and sanitation standards to provide a safe and healthy environment.
  • Understand proper use of all cleaning chemicals and materials.
  • Know and uphold the prescribed health and hygiene standards.
  • Report to work promptly as scheduled and do not depart until released by supervisor.
  • Check out and return all keys and radio to the Housekeeping Supervisor(s) daily.
  • Report completion or status of all services.
  • Ensure that the daily assignment sheet accurately reflects services performed.
  • Maintain neat, clean appearance, wearing Timbers Club uniform and nametag.
  • Turn in lost and found items and tag items left behind by guests.
  • Be willing to perform any tasks outside the normal job parameters that are assigned which may be required to help the Housekeeping Department or Timbers Club as a whole.
  • Prompt reporting of any maintenance/damage/missing items from common areas.
  • Promote good owner/guest relations through courteous service and special cleaning requests.
  • Off-season special projects.
  • Assist in training of new hires by upholding Timbers Club standards of cleanliness and guest service by good example.
  • Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Previous housekeeping experience preferred.
  • Ability to communicate; basic understanding of English preferred.
  • Experience working with the public.
  • Available to work flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to do several tasks at one time and maintain consistency, efficiency and uphold high standards of cleanliness, order and organization.
  • This position requires a Criminal Background Check upon hire.
Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a Criminal Background Check.
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • The primary work areas are the front office, gym, property hallways, stairways, and elevators; housekeeping office and housekeeping closets; administration offices; gym; garage and other areas of Timbers Club property, including the outdoor grounds and inside residences.
  • Regularly pass through outdoors with adverse conditions with exposure to outdoor elements or a combination of both indoors and outdoors and may be required to walk on slippery and uneven surfaces.
  • Extensive contact with cleaning chemicals and other tools required for cleaning units and other areas of Timbers Club property.
  • Standing, bending, stooping, kneeling, twisting, reaching, stretching, pushing, pulling, lifting, carrying, walking, climbing stairs and other repetitive movements; up to 50 pounds.
  • Strong attention for detail and ability to multitask.
Ability to walk long distances and be on feet most of the day.
