As Purchasing Manager, you will play a key role in driving the efficiency and effectiveness of our supply chain operations. You will lead the purchasing function, oversee inventory management, and build strong relationships with vendors to ensure the timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials critical to our business. This role requires a balance of strategic thinking and hands-on execution, as you will be responsible for both developing purchasing processes and actively managing day-to-day procurement activities. You will collaborate closely with sales, production, and accounting to align purchasing strategies with business needs and customer demands. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader who thrives in a fast-paced, growing environment and is committed to continuous improvement, operational excellence, and maintaining strong supplier partnerships.Job Summary:
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Interviews, hire and trains new staff.
- Oversee the daily workflow and schedules of the department.
- Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
- Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Purchases supplies, materials, and parts for the company.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, prices, buyers, and delivery conditions to anticipate future material availability; directs purchasing programs accordingly.
- Develops and maintains inventory databases for supplies and materials used.
- Negotiates and completes contracts with vendors for optimal cost and delivery times.
- Reviews purchase orders and contracts for compliance with company and departmental policies.
- Collaborates with sales, customer service, and logistics departments to maximize efficiency in the purchasing and inventory control department.
- Communicate with suppliers to resolve problems that may arise regarding delivery, quality, price, or conditions of sale.
- Coordinates with sales and accounting to establish authorization limits for purchasing staff; interdepartmental communication on limits exception and customer credit as needed.
- Purchases large and complex items.
- Develops and implements policies and procedures related to purchasing and inventory control with a goal to maximize efficiency and optimize workflow.
- Monitor and adjust the inventory with coordination with production and accounting.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Strong supervisory and leadership skills with the ability to effectively train others.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software, as well as inventory or ERP software.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Business or related field with coursework in purchasing and/or inventory control management, preferred.
- At least five years of buying or purchasing experience in industrial or manufacturing required with supervisory experience preferred.
Pay:
$90,000.00 - $109,000.00 per yearBenefits:
