Job Description

The QC Inspector will work directly for the Quality Department Manager to provide support developing quality programs and providing quality assurance audits of existing programs across multiple disciplines within the organization on the jobsite. Additionally, the QC Inspector will work directly with the field operational groups to evaluate quality systems requirements and develop and implement solutions to decrease costs and increase performance efficiencies. Responsibilities Performs and documents quality assurance audits of the project, departments, and divisions in accordance with established and written plans and procedures. Accurately collects and trends quality key performance indicators (KPIs) across multiple projects and divisions within the organization. Reports on adverse trends related to project quality to appropriate management. Conducts supplier visits for conformance with purchase order specifications and manages supplier quality management programs. Enforces project specific quality plans and inspection and tests plans based on client quality standards, contract requirements, client specifications, and additional statutory and regulatory requirements. Performs root cause analysis of any identified quality issues and assists project teams with establishing effective implementation of corrective and preventive actions. Reviews subcontractor quality documentation including site quality plans, inspection and test plans and supporting procedures. Ensures implementation of processes is effective and reflects actual practices. Assists with gathering information for contribution to the lessons learned processes. Provides support for reviewing QA/QC deliverables prior to client turnover and project close out. Provides technical guidance and interpretation of specifications, codes, standards, and statutory/regulatory requirements. Ability to travel. Experience Minimum 5 years of quality assurance experience. Prior experience with conducting internal auditing in accordance with ISO 9001 or similar standards. Project based field experience constructing, and/or inspecting facilities within the midstream segment preferred. Proficient and qualified to monitor, assess, evaluate, discuss, decide, resolve, report, verify and document facility construction tasks for the purpose of ensuring the requirements of Company and Client standards, design, drawings, specifications, regulations, and industry practices are met safely, efficiently, and in an environmentally sound manner. Knowledgeable and capable of implementing management processes, which may include but not limited to, industry and regulatory codes and requirements, project objectives and familiarity with contract administration, proper change management practices, planning and scheduling tasks, controlling quality costs, managing quality assurance, audits, non-conformance reports and quality verification and documentation requirements Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications. Experience with SharePoint preferred. Education/Training A current relevant quality certification (ISO 9001/ASQ Auditor Certificate or equivalent) preferred. Must have a comprehensive working knowledge of all ACI, ASME, and API standards and procedures related to the midstream oil and gas industry. CWI, NACE, API, or equivalent industry certification preferred. Competencies & Abilities Up-to-date knowledge of quality practice and international standards. Demonstrated leadership, analytical, and organizational skills. Thorough and accurate with attention to detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Good ability to communicate information and ideas in writing so others will understand. Displays tactful, mature, and professional demeanor with well-developed interpersonal skills including the ability to work with diverse personnel. Must be proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook programs. Performs job safely with respect to others, property and to individual safety. Works effectively with others to encourage teamwork and productivity. Fast-paced environment. Must be able to interact professionally with all levels of management while simultaneously managing a diversified workload and challenging situations efficiently and effectively. Regularly sit, stand, walk, talk, and listen. Occasionally lift and move objects up to 30 pounds. Work Environment The job will primarily be on or around construction/turnaround sites in petrochemical operational units and include possible hazardous environments such as confined spaces and working at heights. Exposure to loud noises, dust, dirt, irritants, and smoke may occur. Special Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be necessary to control some hazardous environments. Additional forms of PPE may be required depending on the particular project. Safety requirements must be verified and meet standards set forth by client permits, policies, and procedures, and be performed in compliance with all federal, state, and local laws or ordinances before work activities can begin.
