Job Description

Quality Inspector Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Performs routine and final inspection on pre-fab parts and assemblies, fabricated weldments, machined components and coating processes using customer drawings along with other common inspection and measurement tools used in the steel fabrication industry. Responsible for carrying out tasks in support of other company goals and objectives as assigned or requested by the Quality Coordinator.

Must be dependable with a strong work ethic. Must be a self-starter with a keen eye for detail. Must have excellent visual acuity. Must be able to work well with others and exhibit respect and diplomacy when dealing and communicating with customers, peers and coworkers. Must exhibit determination, accountability and respect. Must be able to manage multiple priorities without losing sight of the main objective. Must be able to read and interpret fabrication and machining drawings. Knowledge /
Educational Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED with strong math skills. Proficient working with both fractions and decimals. At least 3 years of experience performing quality inspections in a fabrication and or manufacturing environment. Must be familiar with the use of tape measures, calipers, micrometers and other common instruments used in the inspection process. Must have good communication skills both written and oral. Good computer skills are necessary with the ability to use Microsoft products such as Excel, Word, Power Point and Outlook. Must have a solid understanding of welding symbols and their meaning as used in customer drawings for weldments and fabrications. Applicant should have a good grasp for Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerances, (GDT), with the ability to interpret symbol definition and application when presented on customer drawings and blueprints. This position may require some over-time. Highly desirable qualifications for immediate consideration:
CAWI, CWI, MCWI
certification. NDE certifications, UT, MT, or PT Associates degree or higher in manufacturing or engineering discipline. Experience with CAD or Solid Works type engineering /design software Bi-lingual is a big plus
