Job Description
Company Overview Artcobell Corporation is dedicated to designing and manufacturing high-quality school furniture that enhances the learning experience for teachers and students. Since 1965, we have been committed to producing durable products that withstand the rigors of everyday classroom activities. Summary We are seeking a Quality Manager to join our team at Artcobell Corporation. In this role, you will be responsible for inspection and testing of the manufacturing processes and products to ensure the product quality. The Quality Manager will work with a variety of test equipment and methods, processes and products, ensuring proper procedures are followed and documented to maintain product quality and records traceability. The Quality Manager will ensure the nonconforming products are appropriately identified and removed from the production flow until such product can be dispositioned. The Quality Manager will also work with manufacturing, ensuring that all the parts and the correct ones go to the customers in the correct boxes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversee the production processes to ensure adherence to standard work and quality expectations. Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions. Investigate product or process deviations to identify the root cause and implement corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) to prevent recurrence. Conduct internal and external audits and coordinate responses to audit findings, ensuring compliance and addressing any identified issues. Collaborate with production and other departments to ensure quality from raw material selection to finished goods. Provide training and guidance to employees on quality control procedures and continuous improvement practices. Ensure all records and documentation are compliant with company and regulatory requirements. Collect, analyze, and summarize quality data to identify trends, pinpoint problems, and prepare reports for management review. Spearhead initiatives aimed at reducing damaged products, rework, scrap, and warranty claims. Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the Quality/Production team. Address customer complaints regarding technical or quality issues, find resolutions and improve processes to prevent future issues.Required Skills and Abilities:
A bachelor's degree and/or relevant field experience such as engineering, business administration, or quality management is often preferred. Several years of experience in quality control or quality assurance, preferably within the furniture or cabinet industry, is typically required. Certifications like ASQ's Certified Quality Manager (CQM), Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), or Lean Six Sigma certifications can be advantageous. Expertise in quality management systems and the ability to use quality control tools and software are highly valued. The ability to analyze data, identify trends, and conduct root cause analysis to resolve quality issues is crucial. Strong leadership skills are essential to guide and motivate a quality control team. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary to effectively convey quality standards and procedures to different stakeholders. Meticulous attention to detail is vital to identify defects and inconsistencies and ensure product quality. The ability to effectively solve problems is crucial for identifying the root cause of quality issues and implementing effective solutions. Must be able to travel 10% - 20% to address customer concerns.Job Type:
