JOB SUMMARY
The Quality Control Specialist is responsible for maintaining and implementing quality assurance standards throughout manufacturing processes and finished products. Key duties include inspecting and testing raw materials, in-process components, and final goods using precision tools, analyzing results to identify defects, and ensuring compliance with ISO standards or other quality management systems. This role collaborates with production teams to resolve quality issues, recommends process improvements, and contributes to root cause analyses and corrective actions. Additional responsibilities include calibrating testing equipment, assisting with training on quality protocols, developing and revising company documentation, and participating in audits. The specialist plays a key role in ensuring product quality while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and compliance with safety and environmental regulations.JOB DUTIES
- Maintain and implement quality assurance standards for all manufacturing processes and finished products.
- Perform inspections and testing on raw materials, in-process materials, and finished goods using various tools and equipment, such as calipers, micrometers, and measuring gauges.
- Document and analyze testing results to identify defects, deviations, or irregularities.
- Enforce compliance with ISO standards (or other relevant quality management systems, as applicable).
- Verify adherence to specifications, blueprints, and technical drawings.
- Collaborate with production teams to define and resolve quality issues, providing feedback and recommendations for process improvement.
- Conduct/assist in root cause analyses and recommend corrective actions for quality-related problems.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date quality records, reports, and logs.
- Calibrate and maintain testing equipment regularly to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Assist in training production staff on quality protocols and standards, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Assist Senior Quality Specialist in auditing of standard practices and methods as well as lending expertise and assistance to the Quality Team to help achieve goals.
- Assist in quality and manufacturing processes, and product research and development.
- Attend Team, Quality, Production, Kick Off, and Lesson Learned meetings. Other meetings as required.
- Assist in the development, review, and revision of Company documentation (I.E., Work Instruction, Procedures, Forms, ITP, FMEA, etc.)
- Comply with all safety, health, and environmental regulations during inspections and tests.
- Additionally, the Quality Specialist shall be responsible for providing ongoing assistance, as needed to achieve ODYSEA team goals.

EDUCATION

|SKILLS:
Required:
- 1-3 years of experience in quality control, manufacturing, or a related field.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Strong understanding of quality assurance principles, manufacturing processes, and technical specifications.
- Proficient in using inspection tools and quality-testing equipment (e.g., micrometers, calipers, etc.).
- Familiarity with industry-specific standards (e.g., ISO 9001, Six Sigma).
- Basic knowledge of blueprint reading, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing), and statistical process control (SPC).
- Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and contribute effectively to a team.
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree or certification in Quality Assurance, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Experience with
ISO 9001
compliant manufacturing process preferred- Extensive knowledge in coating and or paint systems desired
- Functional knowledge in Microsoft programs required
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Work in a manufacturing plant environment with exposure to loud machinery, dust, and temperature variations.
- May involve standing, bending, or manual handling during inspections.
