Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Dental Hygienist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care, perform dental cleanings, and assist with various clinical procedures. This role requires a thorough understanding of dental terminology, infection control protocols, and patient assessment techniques. Experience with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix, as well as pediatric dentistry expertise, is highly desirable. The Registered Dental Hygienist will work closely with the dental team to ensure a comfortable and efficient patient experience while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations and medical records documentation standards. Responsibilities Perform dental prophylaxis, scaling, and root planing to promote optimal oral health. Take and record vital signs, medical histories, and assess patient health status prior to procedures. Assist with chairside procedures including medical imaging, medical coding, and documentation review. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and treatment options. Maintain infection control standards through aseptic technique and sterilization of instruments. Utilize dental software such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix for accurate record keeping and documentation. Collaborate with dentists on treatment planning for pediatric and general dentistry cases. Monitor patient comfort during procedures and provide compassionate patient care tailored to individual needs. Ensure compliance with all HIPAA regulations regarding patient privacy and confidentiality. Support the dental team in maintaining a clean, organized, and safe clinical environment. Qualifications Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist. Proven experience in dental office settings; experience in pediatric dentistry is a plus. Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or similar platforms. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and medical terminology. Ability to perform four-handed dentistry techniques efficiently. Excellent patient care skills with a focus on pediatrics and general dentistry patients. Familiarity with medical imaging procedures, vital signs measurement, and documentation review. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and medical records management. Effective communication skills to educate patients and collaborate within the dental team.
