Registered Nurse (RN)

Summary:

Coordinate total nursing care for patients; participate in patient and family teaching; provide leadership working cooperatively with other health care providers.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform and document nursing assessments, including vitals and telemetry monitoring. Administer IV therapy, ABGs, splinting, CPR, and defibrillation. Interpret cardiac arrhythmias and initiate treatment per standing orders. Assist with triage, patient transfers, and prepare equipment/trays for physicians. Educate patients on crutch use, home care, and follow-up instructions. Maintain emergency supplies, crash carts, and automated medication systems. Ensure accurate EMR documentation and participate in quality assurance. Provide crisis intervention and promote patient/family understanding of care.

Qualifications:

Graduate of accredited nursing school; current PA RN license required. CPR certification required; ACLS/PALS and Coronary Care Course within 1 year.

Preferred:

1+ year of medical/critical care experience, IV therapy, and cardiac monitor skills.

Skills & Abilities:

Strong communication and interpersonal skills with diverse populations. Ability to stay calm and effective in emergencies. Maintains confidentiality, compliance with hospital policies, and professional standards. Physically able to meet job demands, including occasional heavy lifting.

Work Environment:

Primarily indoor hospital setting with potential exposure to illness. Involves frequent standing and use of hands, with occasional lifting and physical activity.
