Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT)

Companion Veterinary Clinic is an AAHA Accredited, privately owned and operated hospital located in the heart of California's Sierra Foothills and enveloped by a tight knit community that thrives off of its small-town atmosphere. Our clinic is located a short 10-minute drive from Auburn's hiking trails and outdoor recreation area that spans over 42,000 acres, making it ideal for those who wish to connect with nature. We provide gold standard care to a large array of patients, including cats, dogs, rabbits, pocket pets, birds, reptiles, zoo animals, wildlife, and many more. We have expanded hours in order to provide general practice and urgent care services, and plan to continue growing and improving our practice moving forward. Our Registered Veterinary Technicians work directly with our doctors and support staff in a collaborative environment to provide the highest standard of care to our patients and clients. Experience with exotic species is welcomed but not required! Responsibilities Obtaining accurate medical history Maintaining accurate electronic medical records Patient triage and assessment Anesthesia induction and monitoring Surgical preparation and assistance Venipuncture and IV catheter placement Digital radiography In-house laboratory diagnostics Client communication and education Canine/feline dentistry Care and handling of exotic animal patients Requirements Active California RVT license (or eligibility to obtain) Minimum 1-2 years of clinical veterinary experience Experience or comfort with exotic animals is a strong plus Strong technical skills with a high attention to detail Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work effectively in a team environment What We Offer Competitive compensation based on experience Continuing education allowance and support Supportive, collaborative team culture Diverse and interesting caseload including exotic species The stability and personal environment of a privately owned practice Shifts Monday -
