XSeed Labs at BioMed X USA, located on the campus of Boehringer Ingelheim in Ridgefield, Connecticut, is an enthusiastic and dynamic group of top-level scientists dedicated to developing the next generation of organ-on-a-chip models for modeling fibrosis and wound healing. About Team MFW The goal of our team, led by Dr Lorenzo Talà, is to create advanced models that recapitulate human physiology, allowing for drug discovery tailored to humans without the need for animal experimentation. The primary aim of this project is to create models that closely mimic human physiology, enabling more efficient and effective drug discovery processes. The team is dedicated to developing the next generation of organ-on-a-chip models for modeling fibrosis and wound healing. Job Description We are seeking a Research Assistant to join our team and contribute to the development of the next-generation in vitro and prediction models of fibrosis and wound healing by performing the following tasks: Assist in analysis of experimental results using bioinformatics tools Develop a knowledge graph based model Assist in wet lab experiments when needed Presentation of scientific results to stakeholders Flexibility to adapt to a broader range of responsibilities when necessary Required Skills Our ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and skills: BSc or MSc degree in Data science, Bioinformatics, Bioengineering, Biomedical sciences, or equivalent Proficiency in data science (Python/R, statistics, machine learning) Strong experience in bioinformatics, particularly single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) analysis Hands-on experience with graph databases (e.g., Neo4j) and query languages such as Cypher Experience with data modeling and knowledge graph development Strong teamwork and collaboration skills Additional (preferred) Skills Candidates with expertise in the following areas will be given preference: Familiarity with biomedical ontologies and biological network analysis Ability to integrate biological and computational data Interest in learning wet lab practices What We Offer The position is fully funded by Boehringer Ingelheim.
