Job Description

Overview Join our compassionate team as a Resident Care Aide, where you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for residents in long-term care, assisted living, or memory care settings. This energetic position offers the opportunity to provide personalized support, promote independence, and foster a warm, caring environment for individuals with diverse needs, including seniors, those with developmental disabilities, and residents living with dementia or Alzheimer's. Your dedication will help create a safe, respectful, and engaging community where residents feel valued and cared for every day. Responsibilities Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support using equipment such as Hoyer lifts when necessary Monitor and record vital signs like blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to ensure residents' health status is maintained Administer medications accurately following prescribed protocols and document all medication activities using electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems Provide specialized care for residents with dementia or Alzheimer's disease through memory care techniques and behavior management strategies Support residents during meals by meal preparation, feeding assistance, and ensuring proper nutrition intake Conduct routine cleaning of resident rooms and common areas to maintain a hygienic environment that promotes health and safety Engage residents in social activities and recreational programs to encourage socialization and mental stimulation Collaborate with nursing staff, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to develop personalized care plans that meet each resident's unique needs Use effective communication skills to support residents' emotional well-being and foster positive relationships Maintain safety standards by following infection control protocols and emergency procedures such as First Aid when needed Qualifications Prior experience in nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or home & community care environments is highly preferred Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer's support techniques, and behavior management strategies Certification or training in First Aid is advantageous; willingness to obtain required certifications upon hire Experience working with individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges is a plus Ability to accurately take vital signs and administer medications following established guidelines Demonstrated caregiving skills with a compassionate approach to resident support Ability to operate EMR systems efficiently for documentation purposes Valid driver's license preferred for driving residents or supplies when necessary Strong interpersonal skills to connect empathetically with residents and team members Join us in making a meaningful difference in the lives of our residents! Pay:
$17.50 - $19.50 per hour
