Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Retail Assistant Manager to oversee daily store operations, support sales growth, and lead a team of retail associates. The ideal candidate will possess strong management skills, excellent communication abilities, and a comprehensive understanding of retail processes. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to a thriving retail environment while developing leadership expertise in a fast-paced setting. Responsibilities Assist in managing store operations, including inventory control, merchandising, and stock replenishment Lead and supervise retail staff, providing training, coaching, and performance evaluations Oversee customer service to ensure a positive shopping experience and resolve escalated issues effectively Manage POS systems, cash handling, and cashiering duties with accuracy and integrity Coordinate purchasing and inventory management to optimize stock levels and reduce shrinkage Implement sales strategies and promotional activities to meet store targets Assist in scheduling shifts and managing daily store workflow for efficient operations Conduct employee orientation, interviewing, recruiting, and onboarding new team members Support marketing initiatives to increase store visibility and sales performance Maintain organized records of payroll, bookkeeping, budgeting, and administrative tasks Ensure compliance with company policies and safety regulations Skills Proven management experience in retail settings with supervisory responsibilities Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop team members Excellent communication skills, including phone etiquette and customer interaction Proficiency in POS systems, inventory management software, and retail math calculations Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and perform cashiering duties efficiently Skilled in negotiation, purchasing, pricing strategies, and sales management Bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customer bases Organizational skills with attention to detail in stock control, bookkeeping, and administrative tasks Experience with marketing initiatives, merchandising, stocking, and promotional planning Time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively in a busy retail environment Knowledge of wireless sales or grocery store operations is advantageous Demonstrated ability in training & development, budgeting, store management, shift management, and leadership roles This position is ideal for candidates passionate about retail management who thrive in team-oriented environments.
