Job Description
Job Overview Join our small family team as a Retail Sales Associate! This full-time position combines retail sales skills with building material and interior design knowledge to assist customers with home improvement projects. The ideal candidate takes pride in the quality of their work, and is eager to learn our products and build customer loyalty. FREE health insurance & New Employee Bonus after 90 days! Responsibilities Offer customers product information and assist them in finding items. Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing sales floor by stocking shelves and keeping displays, shelves, desks, and floors clean. Check in orders accurately and communicate order discrepancies to appropriate team member. Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system, process payments, handle returns, and manage customer transactions efficiently and accurately. Answer the phone, direct calls to appropriate person, and take detailed messages. Learn basic paint knowledge in order to assist customers in paint selection. Operate the tinting machine, color matching software, and shaker to accurately mix paint colors, including matching from customer-provided samples. Learn basic cabinet, countertop, and flooring knowledge in order to assist clients with product selection and recommendations. Meet with clients in the showroom to assist in selecting products to fit their specific needs. Design basic kitchen plans based on client's storage needs, style preferences, and budget constraints. Learn the ProKitchen software to provide 3D renderings of cabinet layouts. Field measure and analyze jobsite conditions for proper product application and installation. Develop detailed cost proposals, including material costs, labor fees, and project timelines. Coordinate installation with clients and/or contractors. Maintain an organized and visually appealing showroom floor by keeping displays, fixtures, and floors clean and orderly. Requirements Valid driver's license. Reliability and punctuality, consistently adhering to scheduled shifts. Availability to work some Saturdays. Ability to stand, walk, and lift moderate weight, in alignment with the physical strains of retail work. Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel. Strong communication skills and effective email communication and management. Math skills for handling cash, managing sales transactions, and calculating square footage. Ability to accurately read a tape measure. High attention to detail in order to prevent project mistakes.
