This travel staff pharmacist role offers the opportunity to practice in a grocery store pharmacy setting with a secondary location that provides occasional weekend shifts. Contracts start at 13 weeks, with shorter terms considered.

Location:

Alamogordo, New Mexico (primary retail pharmacy inside a Lowe's Signature Market grocery store, with occasional coverage at a secondary retail location)

Schedule:

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday:

9:00 AM - 6:00

PM Wednesday, Friday:

9:00 AM - 4:00 PM Closed weekends and six major holidays at the primary location Occasional weekend shifts at secondary location as needed

Key Responsibilities:

Accurately prepare, review, and dispense medications following protocols Maintain and update patient medication profiles Supervise and direct pharmacy technicians, verifying daily tasks Participate in medical emergency responses as part of the pharmacy team Inspect medication storage areas and remove outdated products Train and orient new pharmacy staff Follow strict infection control guidelines in all pharmacy operations Cover shifts at the secondary retail location as required, including some weekends

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

Active New Mexico pharmacist license or willing to obtain prior to start Disclosure and verification of all active/inactive licenses Minimum of one year registered pharmacist experience preferred APhA Pharmacy-Based Immunization Delivery certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days Strong patient counseling and medication dispensing skills Experience supervising pharmacy technicians Ability to work flexibly across multiple locations Ready to commit to 13 weeks or longer; shorter contracts may be considered This contract opportunity provides travel stipends covering housing, meals, and travel expenses, along with weekly pay and medical benefits.
