Position Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Production Supervisor specializing in Robotics to join our team at Southland Steel Fabricators. The Production Supervisor

• Robotics will be responsible for overseeing the planning, scheduling, and supervision of our robotic production flow.

This role requires strong leadership skills to effectively supervise team members operating robots and ensure the continuous improvement of operational efficiency in our robot cells through ongoing education and maintenance programs.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Plan and schedule the production flow of robots to meet project deadlines and optimize efficiency. Supervise and lead a team of operators working with robotics, providing guidance, support, and training as needed. Continuously improve the operational efficiency of robot cells through proactive measures such as attending seminars, communicating with vendors for updates and enhancements, and staying abreast of industry advancements. Champion the maintenance program for robot cells, ensuring regular inspections, repairs, and preventive maintenance are conducted to minimize downtime and maximize performance. Collaborate with other departments such as engineering, quality control, and logistics to streamline processes and resolve any production issues efficiently. Maintain accurate records of production activities, performance metrics, and maintenance logs to track progress and identify areas for improvement. Report and manage machine uptime, efficiency, quality and production KPIs. Coordinate between day and night shifts. Uphold safety standards and protocols in all robotic operations, promoting a culture of safety awareness and compliance among team members.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Proven experience in a similar role robotics production in an industrial manufacturing environment, preferably in steel fabrication. Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team effectively. In-depth knowledge of robotic systems, programming, and automation technology. Proficiency in production planning and scheduling methodologies to optimize workflow and resource allocation. Excellent problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing operational challenges. Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and communicate technical information clearly. Familiarity with maintenance procedures and best practices for industrial robots. Experience with continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma is preferred.

Work Environment:

This is a full-time position and requires an on-site presence at our Greensburg, LA facility. The work environment is fast-paced and dynamic, with exposure to industrial machinery and manufacturing processes.
