Job Description
Imperial is seeking a Safety Manager to help lead and strengthen our safety culture across manufacturing facilities. This role requires a highly visible, hands-on leader who can build trust on the production floor, reinforce safe behaviors, and drive greater awareness, accountability, and engagement around safety at every level of the organization.
Full Time Location:
On-Site - Bourbon, Mo. What You'll be Doing Support and drive the execution of safety programs across multiple manufacturing facilities Maintain a strong presence on the production floor to reinforce safe behaviors and build employee engagement Conduct regular floor audits, Gemba walks, and safety observations to identify risks and improve compliance Identify hazards in embroidery, heat press, silkscreen, and other production operations and partner with leaders on practical solutions Assist in developing and maintaining Job Hazard Analyses, safe work procedures, and visual safety practices Lead and support incident investigations including near misses, first aid cases, and recordables, while ensuring timely follow-up on corrective actions Help shift the organization from reactive safety management to a more proactive, behavior-based safety model Develop, track, and monitor safety metrics and KPIs to identify trends, gaps, and improvement opportunities Coordinate and deliver safety training for new hires and current employees across sites and shifts Support employee-led safety engagement efforts, including safety committees, hazard reporting, and plant-level advocacy Partner closely with plant leadership and operations leaders to ensure safety expectations are practical, clear, and consistently applied Touch all aspects of safety across the business as a highly engaged, floor-facing solo operator What We Need Associate or Bachelor's degree in Safety, Industrial Technology, Environmental Health & Safety, or related field, or equivalent experience 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing safety role Strong on-floor presence with the ability to influence and engage employees at all levels Experience supporting or leading safety culture improvement initiatives in a production environment Ability to identify hazards, investigate incidents, and implement effective corrective actions Strong communication, training, and relationship-building skills Practical, hands-on problem-solving approach with strong follow-through Ability to partner effectively with operations leaders and balance safety expectations with production demands Experience developing or tracking safety metrics and KPIs preferred Multi-site experience preferred, but strong single-site manufacturing safety experience will also be considered Experience with lean manufacturing concepts such as 5S, standard work, and visual management is a plus Experience in apparel, textile, or similar light manufacturing environments is a plus Flexibility to support multiple shifts and travel occasionally between facilities as needed Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this role.
