The Deli Associate / Cook is responsible for preparing, cooking, and serving a variety of food items, including pizza, sandwiches, and other hot and cold deli offerings, within a convenience store environment. This position plays a key role in maintaining food quality, safety standards, cleanliness, and providing efficient, friendly customer service while supporting daily deli operations. Duties and Responsibilities Prepare, cook, and assemble food items such as pizza, sandwiches, and other deli products according to company standards Operate deli equipment safely, including ovens, and food warmers Maintain proper food handling, sanitation, and safety practices at all times Ensure deli area, workstations, and equipment are kept clean, stocked, and organized Monitor food quality, freshness, and presentation Assist customers with deli orders in a courteous and professional manner Follow all company policies, procedures, and health regulations Restock ingredients and supplies as needed Communicate with management regarding inventory needs, equipment issues, or customer concerns Support overall store operations as needed during busy periods Qualifications Previous food service, deli, or cooking experience preferred, but not required Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices Strong attention to detail and cleanliness Reliable, punctual, and able to follow instructions Ability to stand for extended periods and perform light to moderate lifting Work Environment This position operates primarily in the deli area of a convenience store and may involve exposure to hot surfaces, food equipment, and varying temperatures. Shifts may include mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
