You are accountable for retention, satisfaction, and revenue growth within an assigned book of drayage business, serving as the day-to-day contact for shippers, importers, and freight forwarders while also building and managing a carrier network. Position Responsibilities Client Management Serve as the primary point of contact for an assigned portfolio of drayage accounts, overseeing import/export containers moving through ports and rail ramps Provide prompt customer communication regarding pricing, appointment scheduling, container and chassis availability, and service issues Educate customers on drayage market conditions: port congestion, chassis shortages, dwell and per diem exposure, rail ramp cutoffs, and free time windows Identify and expand opportunities within existing accounts including new ports, ramps, lanes, transloading, or additional service lines Carrier Management Identify and vet qualified drayage carriers, confirming compliance with essential port and rail requirements such as TWIC, facility access, chassis programs and insurance coverage Build and maintain a dependable network of drayage carriers across key ports and rail ramps to protect capacity and on-time performance Negotiate carrier rates that balance cost, service, and account profitability Track containers in real time and manage exceptions, chassis shortages, dwell, per diem, detention, and appointment misses Monitor carrier performance and hold the network accountable to Front Row's service standards Required Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build rapport quickly with both customers and carriers, with consistent follow-through High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple active containers and shipments simultaneously Proactive, solution-based mindset with the ability to resolve port, rail, and chassis-related exceptions in real time Comfortable working in a fast-paced, metric-driven environment Proficiency with standard business software and willingness to learn TMS/CRM platforms Preferred Previous experience working within the drayage industry Familiarity with chassis pools, per diem/dwell billing, TWIC requirements, port/rail appointment systems, and container tracking Experience managing a customer book of business and/or a carrier network with measurable retention, growth, or performance outcomes TMS experience and working knowledge of freight pricing and lane analysis
