  • $175,000 /yr Posted July 24, 2026 Project Account Executive Position Overview We are seeking a results-driven Project Account Executive to manage commercial flooring accounts and drive project sales from prospecting through close and installation.
This role combines client-facing sales responsibilities with project coordination to ensure profitable, on-time delivery and high customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate has commercial flooring experience, strong project sales skills, and a working knowledge of flooring installation processes. Key Responsibilities Develop and manage a pipeline of commercial flooring projects through prospecting, relationship-building, and account management. Prepare accurate estimates, bids, and proposals based on plans, specifications and site assessments; present proposals and negotiate contracts with clients and general contractors. Coordinate internally with project managers, production teams and installation crews to ensure scope, schedule and quality expectations are met. Conduct regular site visits and pre-bid/site surveys to validate conditions, identify potential issues and confirm installation requirements. Track project financials including budgets, change orders, margins and invoicing to ensure projects remain profitable and on schedule. Serve as primary client contact throughout the project lifecycle, addressing client inquiries, managing expectations and resolving issues promptly. Maintain CRM records, sales forecasts and regular progress reports for leadership; meet or exceed individual and team sales targets. Ensure compliance with safety standards, manufacturer specifications and contract requirements; support quality control and warranty processes. Participate in trade shows, networking events and customer meetings to promote services and expand market presence. Qualifications 3+ years of experience in commercial flooring sales, project sales or related construction account management; experience in commercial flooring projects strongly preferred. Practical understanding of flooring installation methods, materials and sequencing (carpet, vinyl, LVT, hardwood, resilient systems) and ability to review plans and specifications. Proven track record of preparing accurate estimates and closing project-level sales; familiarity with construction contracts and change order management. Excellent interpersonal, negotiation and presentation skills with the ability to build long-term client relationships and work collaboratively with internal teams. Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under deadline pressure. Proficiency with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce), Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and basic project tracking tools. Valid drivers license and ability to travel to client sites and project locations as required.
Preferred:
OSHA or industry safety certification, technical training or trade background in flooring installation, and a bachelors degree in business, construction management or related field. Benefits
