Job Description

This is not a traditional account management role. We're looking for an experienced commercial insurance professional who is ready to operate at a higher level: owning client relationships, shaping account strategy, partnering closely with Producers, and helping sophisticated commercial clients make smart decisions about risk. As a Commercial Lines Senior Account Executive, you'll serve as a senior, client-facing extension of the Risk Advisor/Producer. You'll be in the room for important conversations, lead portions of renewal and coverage discussions, anticipate what clients need before they ask, and help drive solutions across our agency and carrier marketplace. What You'll Own
  • Build trusted, long-term relationships with an assigned book of complex commercial clients and serve as a senior point of contact.
  • Partner with Risk Advisors/Producers to lead account strategy, prepare for client meetings, identify priorities, and ensure commitments are carried through.
  • Drive the renewal process from strategy through execution, including timelines, pre-renewal planning, submissions, market evaluation, recommendations, and retention strategy.
  • Participate in client and prospect meetings, stewardship reviews, and renewal presentations, confidently explaining coverage, market conditions, and recommendations.
  • Understand each client's business, operations, exposures, priorities, and evolving risks, then translate that knowledge into thoughtful insurance and risk-management solutions.
  • Work directly with underwriters, brokers, and carrier partners to negotiate terms, evaluate program structures, and advocate for clients.
  • Identify coverage gaps, cross-sell and account-rounding opportunities, and support new-business opportunities with technical expertise and relationship leadership.
  • Take the lead when complex coverage, billing, claims, carrier, or service issues need to be solved, coordinating the right resources and driving the issue to resolution.
  • Maintain high standards for account accuracy, documentation, compliance, responsiveness, and follow-through while leveraging the broader service team for transactional work.
  • Serve as a senior resource to colleagues and collaborate across Placement, Claims, Risk Specialists, Producers, and other agency teams. What We're Looking For
  • 7+ years of commercial lines insurance experience, including direct responsibility for complex accounts and client relationships.
  • An active Property & Casualty Producer's license for the lines of insurance being written.
  • Deep commercial coverage knowledge and the ability to think beyond individual policies to the client's broader business and risk profile.
  • Strong executive-level communication skills and confidence leading client conversations and presenting recommendations.
  • Proven ability to manage complex renewals, negotiate with carriers, solve problems, and keep multiple priorities moving without losing the details.
  • Strong business judgment, organization, discretion, and follow-through.
  • A collaborative leadership style. You know how to influence, coordinate, and earn trust without needing a formal management title.
  • Advanced designations such as CIC, CRM, CPCU, or similar professional development are preferred.
  • Comfort with agency management systems, Microsoft Office, and technology that improves client service and efficiency.
  • Ability to travel as needed for client, prospect, carrier, agency, and team meetings.
