Hospice Account Executive
Job Description
Job Summary The Hospice Account Executive is responsible for generating hospice referrals by building and maintaining relationships with healthcare providers, facilities, and community organizations. This role involves strategic sales planning, market analysis, and educational outreach to promote hospice services and ensure timely and appropriate patient admissions. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Develop and maintain relationships with referral sources including hospitals, physicians, skilled nursing facilities, and assisted living communities. Meet or exceed monthly admission and call volume targets. Coordinate daily sales and marketing operations, including the implementation of promotional initiatives. Educate patients, families, and caregivers about hospice services to support informed decision-making. Conduct market assessments and contribute to the development of strategic marketing plans. Document all sales activity in CRM systems per organizational standards. Participate in community outreach events, vendor fairs, and educational exhibits. Collaborate with intake and clinical teams to ensure smooth referral coordination and patient transitions. Provide mentorship and support to new marketing staff and care transition coordinators. Monitor and report on the cost-effectiveness of marketing efforts. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of hospice regulations, payer systems, and competitor positioning.
Education:
Associate or bachelor's degree in marketing, Business Administration, Healthcare, or related field preferred.Experience:
Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in healthcare sales, preferably in hospice or home health.Skills:
Strong communication, negotiation, and public relations skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities. Familiarity with Medicare regulations and hospice reimbursement practices. Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required. Work Environment and Physical Demands Frequent travel within assigned territory. Office and field-based work; occasional evening or weekend hours for events or referrals. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally.Physical and Mental Effort:
