Job Description

Routh Sales and Rentals is seeking an experienced, dependable, and hands-on Store Manager to lead the daily operations of our location. This position is responsible for overseeing employees, maintaining proper staffing coverage, ensuring the store is opened and closed correctly, supporting customers, managing day-to-day operations, and communicating important issues to company leadership. We are looking for someone who takes ownership of the operation, follows through on responsibilities, communicates proactively, and is comfortable working in a fast-paced equipment sales and rental environment. Responsibilities Manage the daily operations of the store Provide leadership and supervision to employees throughout the business day Maintain proper staffing levels and coordinate employee schedules Ensure adequate management coverage through store closing Oversee opening and closing procedures Ensure buildings, gates, equipment, keys, cash, and company property are properly secured Monitor employee attendance, performance, productivity, and accountability Address employee issues promptly and communicate significant concerns to senior management Assist with recruiting, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and training employees Extend approved employment offers and provide timely updates regarding hiring status Immediately communicate staffing shortages, resignations, call-outs, or other conditions that may affect store operations Ensure assigned tasks and management responsibilities are completed without repeated follow-up Support rental, parts, service, and equipment sales departments as needed Assist customers and help resolve customer concerns Ensure company policies and procedures are followed Maintain a clean, organized, professional, and safe facility Communicate regularly with company leadership regarding staffing, operations, customer concerns, and other significant issues Identify operational problems and take initiative to resolve them Perform additional management duties as needed Management Expectations This is a hands-on leadership position. The Store Manager is expected to be actively involved in the operation of the business and available to employees throughout the workday.
The successful candidate must demonstrate:
Strong communication and follow-through Dependability and consistent attendance Ability to work the required management schedule Ability to supervise employees and hold team members accountable Ability to recognize and communicate critical staffing and operational issues Strong organizational and time-management skills Initiative and problem-solving ability Professionalism with employees and customers Ability to work independently without constant direction from senior management Schedule Monday through Friday (rotating saturdays): approximately 7:45 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Additional hours may occasionally be required based on staffing, business needs, or operational issues. Because this is a management position, the Store Manager must be able to provide appropriate management coverage during business hours and ensure the store is properly secured and operational responsibilities are completed before leaving. Qualifications Previous management or supervisory experience preferred Experience in equipment rental, construction equipment, automotive, agriculture, powersports, retail, service, or a similar industry is preferred Strong leadership and communication skills Comfortable managing multiple departments and priorities Basic computer and business software skills Ability to handle confidential employee and company information professionally Valid driver's license Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment Experience with construction equipment, equipment rentals, tractors, zero-turn mowers, parts, service, or equipment dealerships is a plus.
