Territory Sales Account ManagerJob description: Our company is a sanitation services company in the Western USA. We're looking for an experienced Territory Sales Account Manager to build our large-account presence in Orange County, California. This person will own the large General Contractor and large Event Company book in the territory — protecting and growing our existing relationships and hunting for new ones — while working closely with Operations to deliver on what we sell. What You'll Do As Territory Sales Account Manager, you'll own the top-of-market account development in Orange County — bringing large General Contractors and large Event Companies into the company on the strength of relationships and service, not just price. You'll report to the Regional Director and partner day-to-day with the Assistant Operations Manager, Dispatcher, and CSR team to make sure what you sell is what we deliver. You'll be responsible for: 1. Bring Large-Scale Customers to the
Company:
Own the target list of large General Contractors and large Event Companies in the Orange County territory — Superintendents, Project Managers, Estimators, Procurement, and Event Producers Build multi-touchpoint relationships that go beyond a single buyer — deep, durable relationships that don't reset every time a project ends or a person changes seats Position the company on value, service reliability, luxury trailer capability, and event execution — not on price alone Represent the company at industry events, association meetings, and customer-hosted events (AGC, ABC, DBIA, ISES, ILEA, IAVM, industry chapters) Develop and maintain account plans for each named strategic account — pipeline, project outlook, renewal calendar, expansion opportunities, and risk Negotiate contracts, MSAs, and pricing agreements with support from the Regional Director Maintain a clean, current CRM with account contacts, project pipeline, and activity notes 2. Create New Relationships from
Scratch:
Hunt for new accounts through cold outreach, LinkedIn, referrals, project research, trade shows, and industry associations Build a personal outreach cadence — targeted calls, emails, and in-person visits — sufficient to generate a healthy new-business pipeline Convert warm leads and inbound inquiries into first orders quickly and reliably Establish yourself as a known name in the Orange County construction and events community over your first 6-12 months Approach unfamiliar customers with confidence — cold calls, walk-ins on job sites, and introductions at events Move accounts from first-order to repeat-customer through follow-up, problem-solving, and personal attention Work with Marketing and Business Development on lead generation, digital presence, and territory awareness 3. Collaborate Effectively with
Operations:
Partner day-to-day with the Assistant Operations Manager, Dispatcher, and CSR team on scheduling, service delivery, and customer communication Understand operational constraints — truck capacity, driver availability, service radius, plastics inventory, trailer availability, and lead times — before making commitments Never over-promise on timing or scope; when a request is tight, work the tradeoff with Ops before committing to the customer Understand the pricing floor and margin expectations by service type; escalate below-floor pricing rather than absorbing it Provide Ops with accurate order details — site access, hazards, timing, delivery windows, event schedules, permit needs Escalate scheduling conflicts, capacity constraints, or service risks to Ops and the customer before they become problems Communicate service issues back to customers proactively — own the customer relationship through the miss, not around it Debrief with Ops after service complaints or misses; close the loop and prevent repeat issues Key Performance Indicators New named accounts won per quarter (large GC, large Event) Territory revenue growth vs. plan Gross margin on managed accounts (avoid winning on price alone) Pipeline coverage — active opportunities relative to quota Customer retention and expansion — dollars per account year over year Response time on customer inquiries and quotes CRM hygiene — accounts, contacts, activities, and forecast current Named-account penetration — number of buying contacts per top account Expectations Field-forward posture — on job sites, at customer offices, at industry events, walking event venues Weekly pipeline review with the Regional Director; disciplined forecasting Direct, honest communication with both customers and internal partners Comfort with rejection and tenacity through long sales cycles typical of large GC accounts Ownership of customer outcomes — from first quote through renewal Alignment with and reinforcement of company Mission, Vision, and Values Requirements 5+ years of business-to-business sales experience with a proven record of hitting new-business quotas Must have: experience selling portable toilets and portable sanitation services into the Construction industry, Event industry, or both Established network of relationships with Orange County General Contractors, Event Producers, or both Bathroom trailer / luxury restroom trailer sales experience preferred Strong hunting skills — cold outreach, prospecting, and comfort approaching new customers Ability to sell on value, service, and relationship rather than lowest price Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills Proficiency in CRM tools; disciplined about pipeline and activity tracking Willingness to travel throughout the Orange County territory and adjacent markets as needed Valid driver's license and clean driving record Commitment to safety, quality, and customer service
Compensation:
Competitive base salary plus commission tied to new-business acquisition, revenue growth, and margin performance Full details discussed during the interview process
Benefits:
401(k), Dental insurance, Employee discount, Flexible schedule, Health insurance, Paid time off, Vision insurance, Company vehicle or mileage reimbursement Work location: Orange County, CA — field-based with regular travel throughout the territory
